The Past Few Months

Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand. Proverbs 19:21

Well, I thought I would be more consistent with my website, but life sometimes has other plans. I ended up getting a remote job. It, honestly, fell into my lap, since I was not looking for one. However, God had other plans, and He gave me a blessing. I really like my new job, and I have an awesome team that I get to work with. Plus, there is the added bonus of having an extra income, which allowed me to travel with Josh to Sweden. Yet, I will get to that in a moment.

First, what life moments have I had other than a new career over the past few months? Well, there have been awesome moments and not so awesome moments. However, I only want to focus on the good because the not so awesome times are too hard to put into writing at the current time.

So, the good and one of many reasons that kept me from blogging over the past few months is I was busy, when I wasn’t working, I was assisting my daughter during her doctor’s appointments while she was pregnant with Lincoln. Lincoln seemed to just want to incubate for longer than his due date, and during that time he really liked to give us some worry moments. He did not like staying in a good position. He preferred to be crossways or sideways or just plain breached.

To be honest, the not so little boy was trying to find room. See, my daughter is very petite. She is only 5’ tall, but her husband is 6’4”. Her children are following more in their father’s genetics rather than their mother’s. Our first grand baby is already nearly as tall as Jazmyn was at five, and she is only two and half years old. Her little brother is definitely following in her footsteps. Lincoln finally decided to get head down, after weeks of wondering if he ever would, and was born on October 22nd after thirty-six hours of active labor. He came into this world at 9 lbs 14 oz and 22” long!

He is now a healthy two and half month old at 16 lbs and 25” long. It is crazy to see my petite daughter with these gorgeous healthy over average children, when she was always below the average on the growth charts. I do think God has a great sense of humor. Thankfully, everyone is doing well. Jazmyn is an amazing mother and wife. It brings me so much joy watching her become the woman that she is today.

Another thing that kept me busy, visits with my son and his wife. They live six hours away, but we try hard to visit when we can. I love their visits so much. It is a blessing to have both of my children to be happily married and being responsible adults. I may miss the times when they are young and really wish time didn’t go by so fast, but I am grateful that they are happy. Not that they do not have their many trials, but they have both been blessed with a partner that walks with them through the trials.

Also, during the past few months, we celebrated the fall Holy Days. We ended up keeping the Feast of Tabernacles local since Jazmyn was due during the Feast. It ended up being a really great Feast. I must recommend a book we read each day by Dennis Prager called The Rational Bible: Deuteronomy God, Blessings, and Curses. I may not agree with him on all points since being a Christian, and he is Jewish. However, it did give me a deeper understanding of Deuteronomy.

In November, I was able to go with Josh to Sweden. We went to a small town called Enköping. It isn’t a tourist type of town, but it is still beautiful. He had to go because of work, and I was blessed to go on a vacation. The town is known for its many gardens, but unfortunately, November is not the month for gardens. Yet, I still enjoyed walking around the town, seeing the river called Enköpingsån, and walking through the city park despite everything being dormant. Plus, the local restaurants were amazing. God willing, I will be able to travel with Josh more often.

Farm life is also doing well. I have been busy clearing property. I am currently clearing an area that I plan to plant fruit trees and berries. I nearly have it fully cleared. Hopefully, it will be done by the end of February so we can plant before spring.

I honestly can’t believe it is 2026 already. Last year flew by in a blur. I do not have any new year resolutions, but I do have goals. The most important goal is to try each day to live a life that strives to align with God’s will and not my own, to love fiercely, to find joy even in the trials, and to be a light. I don’t want the ways of this world to steal my joy and hinder my faith. May we all strive to resist the devil and be set-apart by being thankful in all circumstances.
